  • WJNCO Awarded Scholarship to SMU Students

  • The “2019 Shanghai Maritime University Outstanding Students' Commendation and Scholarship Award Ceremony” took place recently. Song Baoru, Secretary of the Party Committee of SMU, Huang youfang, President of SMU, He Li, Deputy Scretary of the Party Committee of SMU, and Shi Xin, Vice President of SMU, all attended the ceremony. Also present were representatives from 28 enterprises and institutions who donated scholarships to SMU, from governmental departments and other teachers and students.

    Mr. Song delivered a speech at the beginning extending warm congratulations on behalf of SMU to the students who had won scholarships and commendation. He also extended sincere gratitude to the guests and alumni for their support to the developments of SMU.

    “WJNCO Scholarship” has been set up in SMU since 2016. Our senior adviser Mr. Zhong Cheng and senior lawyer Mr. Zhang Changtao attended the ceremony to award scholarships to the 5 winners (Wang Xinyi, Wu Yingzhi, Xu Yunping, Liu Qun and Jin Xue) selected by the SMU Law School. These students are not only full of enthusiasm for study, but also positively participate in various school activities.

    Mr. Song instructed the students to bear honours in mind and keep making continued efforts. He hoped all students would follow the winners to be active, aggressive and industrious in study, doing bests to embark new paths for their own lives.

    After the Award Ceremony, SMU Law School invited Mr. Zhong Cheng and Mr. Zhang Changtao to a face-to-face meeting with the winners for sharing experiences, giving advices and instructions in respect of daily school life, profession study, career prospects and planning. Mr. Zhong Cheng and Mr. Zhang Changtao answered all kinds of questions raised by the students and encouraged them to keep working hard for more progress. The students expressed to be greatly encouraged when awarded the “WJNCO Scholarship” and would continue studying hard aiming at making contributions to improvement of the Chinese legal system in the future.
