  • WJNCO Relocated Guangzhou Head Office with Acclaiming Promoted Partners

  • Thanks to our administrative staff’s great efforts, Wang Jing & Co., Guangzhou Head Office has been relocated to the Bank of Guangzhou Square in the Zhu Jiang New Town, CBD of Guangzhou. On 8 June 2020, despite of drizzle, we hosted a joyful relocation ceremony in the new office to signify a brand-new start of WJNCO in pursuit of greater success in the new era to hug a more glorious future.

    On the next day, WJNCO convened the annual partnership meeting via video link. Partners in our Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao, Xiamen, Beijing, and Shenzhen offices met each other on screen. The Executive Managing Partner, Mr. Wang Jun, first reported the smooth relocation of Guangzhou Office and partners in charge of each branch office reported their respective business performance over the past year and development plans for the coming year. Managing Partner Mr. Chen Xiangyong praised all our partners and lawyers for their consistent professionalism and devotion in providing clients with premium legal services and striving to make great achievements in spite of the current worldwide challenging business climate. He also proposed new targets on the Firm’s management and future developments. All partners voted to agree the newly amended partnership agreement, discipline code for staff, practising handbook for lawyers, and outlines for WJNCO business development and staff training program. Proposals were also put forward with a view to further optimize the Firm’s management, reinforce the Firm’s business supporting and development teams so as to intellectualize and standardize management of the Firm.

    Another important topic at the meeting was to discuss and approve applications for promotion to be partners by the Firm’s 3 senior associates, Mr. Zhang Changtao, Ms. Zhang Jing and Ms. Qiao Jing.

      Mr. Zhang Changtao joined Wang Jing & Co., Shanghai Office in 2019. Before joining us, Mr. Zhang worked as a leading partner for a well-known maritime law firm in Shanghai for 12 years. He is a highly-experienced formidable litigator proficient in dealing with shipping, insurance, international trade and business matters, and has also handled many corporate and labor dispute cases. His joining as partner enriched the Firm’s talent and business structures.

      Ms. Zhang Jing joined Wang Jing & Co., Guangzhou Office, in 2019. Before joining us, she worked as a partner in a shipping law firm in Guangzhou, practicing in law for over 12 years. Ms. Zhang has handled many high-profile cases, including dispute case over “Gabriel” maritime salvage contract. She was named as one of the “Guangdong Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Practices”, granted the “Nomination Award of Guangzhou Foreign-Related Lawyers” and listed as one of “China’s 1000 Lawyers on Foreign-Related Matters” by the PRC Ministry of Justice. Ms. Zhang also served as a mediator of the Mediation Center of Guangzhou Maritime Court and as an off-campus tutor of Guangzhou Maritime Institute. Her joining as partner enhances the Firm’s comprehensive strength in the traditional shipping legal service sector.

      Ms. Qiao Jing has been working in Wang Jing & Co., Shanghai Office since 2007. She graduated from the Law School of Wuhan University where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Zhang Xianglan. During more than 13 years of practice in the Firm, Ms. Qiao has gained solid skills and abundant experience in dispute resolution by litigation and arbitration. Her practice focuses on insurance, corporation and international trade, etc. Ms. Qiao has represented clients in litigation before the Supreme People's Court and a number of higher people's courts of China, and successfully resolved many domestic and international arbitration cases. Ms. Qiao is a partner nurtured for a decade with the Firm’s advanced concepts of talents cultivation.

    Promotion of the 3 elite lawyers will enhance comprehensive strength of the Firm’s partnership team. All partners and lawyers of the Firm will unite to be of one heart and one mind and explore opportunities for business expansion into more related fields while keeping our advantage in traditional shipping and maritime insurance sectors, endeavoring to provide our clients with more comprehensive, excellent, elaborate and efficient services.
